Alternative access to Library digital content

Due to rising subscription costs, Reed Library has assessed the usage and content of our databases. As a result of our assessments, we have made the difficult decision to end our subscriptions to Artstor, The Chronicle of Higher Education Premium Edition, and ProQuest Social Sciences Premium Collection. In order to make the transition away from these databases as easy as possible, we offer the following information: Artstor will be unavailable as of January 1, 2019. A list of Artstor collections and alternative access points is available on the Library’s website . The Chronicle of Higher Education Premium Edition will be unavailable as of July 1, 2018. The Chronicle is still available in print in the Library, and online via Academic OneFile or Academic Search Complete . Instructions on creating an automated alert e-mail via either database are available through the Library’s website . Castleman Quartet performances - correction

Young musicians from the Castleman Quartet program , who are studying in Fredonia this summer, will present string quartet performances in Reed Library at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19 (not June 11 and 12, as previously announced) . All are welcome to experience this special sampling of music, held on the first floor of Reed Library near the Reference Desk.

Freedonia Marxonia art contest accepting entries

We are now welcoming entries in the Freedonia Marxonia art contest. Participation by all ages and skill levels, using any type of medium, is encouraged. Freedonia Marxonia 2018, the annual celebration of the connection between Fredonia and "Freedonia" (the setting of the 1933 Marx Brothers film Duck Soup ) will open October 4 .
