Extensive jazz compact disc collection donated to Reed Library’s Music Collection

Reed Library’s Music Collection was the recent recipient of an extensive compact disc collection of jazz music. The compact discs, generously donated by Ellen Koessler in March of 2017, have all been cataloged and processed, and are now available to check out or listen to in the Library! Ms. Koessler donated the jazz CD collection of her late husband Jack Koessler , who was a professional musician, composer and graduate of the Berklee School of Music. The collection numbers approximately 800 compact discs , and covers a wide range of important jazz music and musicians, including such artists as Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Gil Evans, Chet Baker, Eliane Elias, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and many others. For a complete listing of titles, search “Koessler 2017” in the Library’s online catalog .
