America’s Historical Newspapers & American Underworld: The Flash Press

Now through May 18, 2019, Reed Library has access to two databases focusing on American Historical Newspapers.  

The first, America’s Historical Newspapers, provides access to four (4) early American series, including Colonies to Nation (1690-1876), The New Republic (1758-1900), The Rise of Industry (1756-1922), and An Emerging World Power (1777-1922).

The second, American Underworld: The Flash Press, provides access to newspapers focusing on “the seamier aspects of urban life in the mid-19th century” (1826-1876).
